Henrik and I went to Haight/Ashbury today and were impressed with the beautiful weather! When we went in the fall, it was so cold and rainy that we immediately got back on a bus and headed home. :P Today, though, there wasn't even a hint of rain. Very lucky!

Bought a few things (of course) and people-watched a fair deal. Haight is a good place for that, I'd say.

I really am fond of pastels, and I'm excited that spring's arrived so that I have an excuse to wear them! Do you all know when Easter is? Being Muslim, I never seem to know when it arrives and Henrik (who's atheist) is no help either. Just curious, because I know people wear all sorts of pastels for Easter! Plus, it'd be good to know when all the shops will be closed down and all. ;P

Here are the thrifting purchases I made today and yesterday! I'm pumped to wear these soon. :D

Yesterday was a celebration! Our school was recognized and given an EPIC award for the gains we have made with student achievement. :) It's a huge honor and we're very proud. Our principals took us out to dinner (/happy hour!) to celebrate the work we've done and show their appreciation. The restaurant was called Soy 4 and it's super fancy! I really enjoyed this one turnip dish, which was pretty unexpected.

I don't get to go out very often because of my schedule, so I was excited: first, because I was going out for drinks and, second, because we have today off (YAY) meaning I could stay out late on a Thursday, which is usually unheard of in my current position. I was so pleased to not be in teacher clothes on a weekday.

rain, rain...get outta here!

Raining all day today, and still it's pouring! Went to dinner in Rockridge with Henrik and my dad, and had to avoid puddles and huddle together awkwardly beneath a too-small umbrella, with bits of our elbows and pant legs sticking out. Unpleasant (the rain, not the dinner!).

Yesterday, it looked like this:

Until then, I'll be watching movies with my pops and Henrik. Rainy nights mean movie nights.

mad about mint

So I'm sure you fashionistas have noticed the sudden surge in mint colored clothing⎯I certainly have! Since I don't own any mint colored clothing currently, I thought it would be fun to compile a list of what I might buy to fill this glaring hole in my wardrobe.

It's interesting how people's style preferences change as they get older. I think I have found myself rather steady in mine for the past couple years, though it is certainly has had a variety of influences. I really adore vintage styles, from pin-up to classic cardigans to mod dresses to 90's grunge and florals. I've someone combined all those things into a wardrobe that is mostly cohesive. For someone who was a big "tomboy" growing up, it's pretty funny that I love all things classic and/or "feminine" now. (but get outta here, gender norms)

but, let's be honest, that dinosaur shirt is pretty rad.

I thought it would be fun to post pictures of styles I really dig. I'd say my tastes have stayed the same since about my senior year of high school. Have any of you changed your style drastically? (I did once go through a weird pseudo-cabaret thing...erm..)
